GJAC is a private nonprofit with a mission to value diversity by increasing cultural access and opportunities through grant offerings, special events, venue management and arts marketing. The agency was founded in 1979 and serves Jackson and Hinds County.

In addition to funding partner Visit Jackson, public sector supporters include the City of Jackson, Mississippi Arts Commission and Hinds County Board of Supervisors.
